If you're a producer, photographer, art director, or production manager looking to book a lip model for beauty, cosmetics, food and drink, or close-up product work, this page covers how HHM works with lip model bookings and answers the questions that most often come up at brief stage.
The Technical Demands of Lip Modelling
Close-up lip work places the full weight of a frame on a single feature. Under a macro lens, lip symmetry, skin texture, moisture levels, natural colour, and the ability to hold a precise expression consistently across multiple takes are all visible — and all critical to delivering usable imagery. A lip model who cannot sustain the same position, expression, and moisturisation across repeated takes will cost a production significant time.
HHM's lip models are selected for the natural quality of their lips, their ability to execute and sustain precise expressions and movements repeatedly, and their track record of delivering consistent results in close-up and macro photography environments. The roster covers a range of lip shapes, sizes, and skin tones — enough breadth to support accurate casting for beauty, cosmetics, food and drink, fragrance, and healthcare campaigns across the UK. The roster is primarily female, reflecting industry demand for this discipline. Where a brief specifically requires male lip talent, the agency will assess its commercial male roster for suitable attributes — contact HHM to discuss.
Lip Model Preparation and Maintenance Standards
HHM lip models are contractually required under the agency's Talent Code of Conduct to maintain their lips and surrounding skin in a production-ready state. That means keeping lips moisturised, the surrounding skin in good condition, and notifying the agency immediately of any change — a cold sore, a cut, a skin reaction, dental work affecting the lip area, or any other condition in or around the shooting area that might affect a booking. The Code requires prompt notification precisely so the agency can alert the client and manage expectations before the shoot rather than on the day. Where no specific brief is given, lip models arrive on set with lips in a naturally maintained, camera-ready condition at no additional cost.
