If you're a producer, photographer, art director, or production manager looking to book an ear model for jewellery, hearing care, audio, or close-up product work, this page covers how HHM works with ear model bookings and answers the questions that most often come up at brief stage.
Specialist Ear Talent for Jewellery and Advertising
The majority of ear model bookings at HHM are for jewellery and accessories brands — earrings, ear cuffs, hearing aids and hearing care products, wireless audio and headphone campaigns. The ear fills the frame, and everything about it is visible: the shape of the lobe, skin texture, piercing placement, and the way a piece of jewellery sits and catches light. Ear shape and natural symmetry are specialist casting criteria — as specific and non-negotiable as skin tone and lobe condition under a macro lens.
HHM's ear model roster is female, reflecting industry demand for this discipline, and all models on the roster carry multiple ear piercings — covering a range of lobe placements, cartilage piercings, and ear shapes across different skin tones. This versatility of piercing placement is a practical asset for jewellery brands requiring specific positioning of earrings, ear cuffs, or multiple-piece sets. HHM has represented specialist ear models since 1991, and the roster is selected for the natural quality of each model's ears, their precision under camera, and their year-round maintenance of a production-ready standard. Where a client specifically requires male ear talent, HHM will assess its commercial male roster for suitable attributes.
Ear Model Preparation and Maintenance Standards
HHM ear models are contractually required under the agency's Talent Code of Conduct to maintain their ears and the surrounding skin in a production-ready state — skin moisturised and in good condition, irritation or reaction avoided in the shooting area, and immediate notification to the agency of any change (a new piercing, a skin condition, an injury, eczema or psoriasis, or any reaction) that might affect a booking. New piercings are a particular consideration: a fresh piercing introduces an unpredictable healing variable into a shooting area where close-up imagery leaves nothing to chance, and the healing period may affect the model's suitability for certain briefs until the piercing is fully settled.
For productions requiring the ear to be fully visible and unobstructed, hair management is a standard on-set consideration. HHM instructs ear models to arrive prepared to have their hair styled away from the ear as required — addressed in the brief issued to the model before the shoot. Where a specific hair styling look is needed to frame the ear correctly, a hairstylist on set is the recommended approach.
