For sports and fitness bookings, male models are expected to arrive groomed and physically prepared in accordance with the pre-assignment brief. The specific grooming expectation for athletic shoots often differs from standard commercial preparation — a natural, active-ready appearance is typically required rather than a polished commercial look. Where a brief requires a specific grooming state — clean-shaven, a particular facial hair look, or body hair management for swimwear or shirtless activewear content — this must be specified in the brief issued to the model before the shoot. Any request to alter a model's established facial hair or holistic appearance requires additional negotiated fees and the model's agreement. HHM will always discuss such requests with the model before presenting the option to the client.

Male sports and fitness models are contractually required to notify HHM promptly of any significant change in their physique or measurements — this obligation is particularly relevant for activewear, compression garment and swimwear briefs where fit is central to the imagery. For productions where a specific build or garment fit is critical, HHM recommends confirming the model's current measurements at the time of booking rather than relying solely on portfolio data. A pre-shoot fitting is available and charged separately; it is strongly recommended for briefs where client-supplied activewear needs to fit precisely. Physique changes discovered on shoot day that affect the garment fit or the creative are a production risk that early communication eliminates.
