Hi, I’m Kayla.
I’m originally from South Africa and now live in London. I have a degree in Graphic Design and have been working professionally as a tattoo artist for over 12 years, specialising in fine line, geometric and realistic tattooing.
Art has always been a huge part of my life and I work across a lot of different mediums. Alongside tattooing, I enjoy calligraphy, drawing, painting on canvas and creating large-scale artwork. Through tattooing I’ve also had the opportunity to customise and create artwork on a variety of different materials and objects, including a collaboration with Birkenstock where I hand-customised shoes.
I’m fascinated by detail and craftsmanship, which is probably why I ended up tattooing. Working with my hands every day has given me a lot of precision, patience and control, whether I’m creating artwork, writing calligraphy or working on intricate tattoo designs.
Outside of art, I love photography, cooking, gaming and reading. I’m also really interested in the biological and dermatological systems of the skin and spend a lot of time studying how the body works. At the moment I’m learning keyboard, as well as Mandarin and Korean writing and speech.
I’m naturally a creative person and always enjoy learning new skills, exploring different forms of art and finding new ways to create.
