Micah Barnes for OPI x Scratch Magazine — September 2025 Cover
NEW WORK
4 April 2026
Micah Barnes on the September 2025 cover of Scratch Magazine, photographed for OPI's FY26 Q1 editorial at Wella World Studios. The OPI brief asked for two distinct registers in a single morning shoot — and Micah covered both.
The editorial cover work was the Y2K-led hero: multi-colour ombre nails on coffin-shaped tips paired with high-shine vampy lip work, styled with chunky silver jewellery and a brick phone, lit and cropped to the macro standard a magazine cover demands. Body parts modelling at editorial level is its own discipline — stillness, position-holding, and the precision to keep a complicated nail look intact frame after frame across a long shoot day. Lucy Price on nails for this register; Chloe Palmer on the 90s-inspired vampy lip and iridescent eyelid work.
The commercial register followed in the same morning. Recognisable lifestyle frames featuring OPI's Nature Strong Cuticle Serum, the new Repair Mode, and Infinite Shine in It's a Girl — fresh, dewy, with the warmth and natural expressiveness that reads as authentic in lifestyle product work. Charlotte Lowe took the nail register down for the ecomm changeover. Madeline Dungar styled across both looks. Photography and lighting by Leo Hoang.
Micah is HHM-represented across body parts and recognisable commercial modelling — the OPI shoot was a working example of why both columns matter on a single talent's record.
The cover ran in Scratch Magazine's September 2025 issue.
