Paige Short - Meet the Models

Hi Paige, Thanks for sitting down with us to answer our questions:

1) How did you get into the industry?

I was attending my first day of university studying Maths at Kings College London when I signed as a model. To this day I never went back!

2) Do you remember your first job?

My first ever job was an editorial for the Evening Standard Magazine with Dior Beauty.

3) What’s been your favourite campaign you have worked on and why?

I have a couple favourites for a variety of reasons. One, opening designer Apu Jan’s show at London Fashion Week. I had never opened a show nor walked to a live orchestra, it was a very surreal experience. I also enjoy any shoot with Cosmopolitan magazine. Not only do they always have such a lovely team, but every article I have shot with them has always carried a really important message.

4) Any advice to new faces?

Be kind to people.

5) Do you have a beauty routine?

I do, I also have taken it one step further by investing in silk bedding for optimal results!

6) What is the strangest thing you’ve been asked to do on set?

I have had quite a few strange requests on set, like using a chainsaw! However, since being with Hired Hands I haven’t been asked to do anything too unusual which I’m awfully grateful for. The chainsaw was quite a stressful day!

7) Do you have a dream brand or client you are yet to shoot for? A Dream Collaboration? And why?

Well this is a new dream I have recently acquired. I didn’t realise I was capable of being extremely jealous of a client, but after hearing about Nina working with Mr Beast, I’m incredibly envious! I grew up watching Mr Beast.

8) Outside of modelling, what is your biggest passion?

I love to read. I’ve lived hundreds of lives through the books I’ve read.

9) Have you ever been starstruck when meeting a director or celebrity on set?

If I’m ever cast for Top Gun that day will come.

10) If you could only take 3 things with you to a desert island, what would they be and why? 

First my mum, anyone that knows me will know how much I love my mum so she’d definitely be first. She’d also keep me calm.

Second, a helicopter so I could go home.

Third, maybe some marmite for the journey.

11) What did you want to be when you grew up?

Quite honestly, all I’ve ever wanted to be is consistently happy. So whatever job aligned with happiness that day is what I would have wanted to be.

12) If you weren’t a model what would you be instead?

I think I would have enjoyed being a Meteorologist, using Maths to predict the weather
